Great American Land & Cattle in El Paso

You pass this place on the highway - it's been there forever - you wonder how the food is. It's ok, it's not bad, but not remarkable. Ribs, steaks, burgers - it's a good place to celebrate a birthday, they're good at bringing the food out all at once, which seems to be a challenge. If there's a wait or if you looking for more basic service, you can dine in the bar area.

Best steak house around... unique food awesome style of delivery appetizer was enough for four people had a coffee with desert was the best ever.

Very good and correctly cooked steak and wonderful brisket. The sides we got were good, but came out not as hot as they should be. They have a nice full bar you can eat at, but no craft beer of any kind (either on tap or in bottles!!!!!). Casual atmosphere and friendly staff.

Two stars for the tortilla soup and that’s it. We ordered an appetizer waiter goes to the kitchen and comes back to tells us they don’t have it. We order another one, he leaves comes back to tell us they don’t have that one either. So forget appetizers. We order our food and when it finally comes out half of what we ordered was missing. Even after telling the waiter what we were missing, we still didn’t get some of it. The bread that was in our plates was cold. I had corn in a cob and that was horrible. My husband ordered a drink and they never brought it out. This was our first time here and already we are not sure we are going back. We can get better food AND service in plenty of other places.

We had a table of 7. All of our plates of food were cold except one. Then i found a piece of metal which looked like a staple in my gravy on top of my chicken fried steak. They remade my food but didn't give any kind of discount. This was our first time eating there and we most likely wont return.

Food was amazing! Huge portions and excellent service. If your in the area or driving by, you need to stop. Our server was Robert and he was very attentive with a great sense of humor!! The fried shrimp are delicious and the meals come with beans and slaw.

Wasn't as good as it has been in the past. We felt rushed and never got any drink refills. Hope it improves.

Our food was delicious, the waitress was courteous, prompt, and efficient.

It's sad to say because we have eaten here a lot and the future of this place is going down hill. The steaks are not prepared correctly and the female manager is awfully rude and inexperienced to deal with customers. You won't see me here again.

Dinner was good until I found out smoking is allowed in the bar area. The smell of cigarettes ruined my meal. According to the server it’s close to the border so it’s allowed. Not sure if it’s allowed in the dining area.

Cold steaks, baked potatoes hard and under “baked”. Extremely disappointed. I ate better tasting rolls in my elementary school cafeteria in the 80’s. Staff appeared a little frazzled by a party of 13. I know Covid has turned everything upside down and has made everything a little more complicated for all but this dining experience was horrible. First time I’ve been disappointed @ a Great American restaurant. Maybe it’s just this location but definitely 2 big thumbs down!

Very good... ribeye was a bit on the tough side and lobster tail was small. Other than that it was pretty good. We'll go back.

We had country fried steak to salty baked potato s were cold.

Food was cold, especially baked potato and beans. Some food platters / choices were to go only. Really ridiculous 🙄🙄

The last time I was in El Paso I ate at this restaurant but it was called The Great American Land And Cattle Co. That was 30 years ago when I lived there. To this day I will tell you those were the best steaks I have ever had. The Great American Steakhouse was very good. It was awesome seeing the restaurant again and I am happy they kept the bulk of it the same. The food was very good and I would say this is better than any chain I've been to but I still cant put it up there with the original. Very close though, and I still highly recommend it over any of the chains.

Awesome! Everything delicious and the portion size is superb!

The service was okay, but the food was lacking flavor. We also asked for a well done and medium well steak burger and we got served two over well done burgers. The patties were super dry not juicy at all. The reason why we visited this restaurant again is because our first experience with the steakburgers at the Airway location was great. We had also asked for a raspberry tea, and received a watered down version of the tea. Sad to say that they have lost their touch.

Steakhouse with a country western decor serving a variety of plates but the specialty is definately the steaks. The top sirloin is a must and is served accompanied with a dinner roll, pineapple coleslaw, and barbecue beans. The atmosphere is so calm and relaxed you can lose track of time conversating with friends and family. Great place for a night with the family or friends just bring an appetite. Service was great.

The steaks were delicious but the decor drab, and it look like I had returned to the 1970s. Nothing like a good high energy steak hiuse.

I went on 2/15 to celebrate my birthday with my wife and 12 other friends, we had to wait for a table and tried to get a drink at the bar, but there was a table with 8-10 people and at least 6 of them were smoking. None of the waiters seemed to mind, but the smoke was thick and since we don't smoke we could not enjoy a drink before dinner.The service at dinner was awesome our waitress took care of all my guests and I fast and efficiently, we were sure to take care of her and you should do also.My only complaint was the smoking in the bar and the lack of interest from the staff to stop it, there was a guy rolling silverware that looked like a supervisor and he did not care either.

The food was excellent and so was the service. We will definitely be back

Really tasty food, especially their steaks. Got a 10oz. top sirloin that was quite thin but STILL very moist, tender and tasty. Don't know how they do it. Have never gotten even a questionable meal there yet!

I love this little gem off the highway.The ambiance is great, the servers are good, and the food is fantastic!I had the Cajun chicken breast meal and it was so good! It was juicy, the rub had enough heat, and it filled me up.There is also rotating specials so be sure to check it out. Saturday Margaritas were $3.50 each when I went.

Oh my goodness, Joey, our server was wonderful. Good food, and a great selection. Full bar, appetizers, menu items for 2+. Fun western atmosphere. Convenient location, lots of parking for cars, not if you're towing a trailer though. Remember, doggie bags are great.

This place was great, our waitress was awesome , I'm so glad we got to go in and sit to eat our meal, it was truly delicious, I'm willing to go again oh for sure.

We have been going for years to get the trays especially because of the beef ribs. Well today we ordered the tray and specifically said the one with the beef ribs. We came home and no beef ribs. I called and they said that the beef ribs no longer come in the tray after I went to pick them up and told them they were missing. I just now went to the menu and saw the BBQ tray still has the beef ribs. The manager told me if I wanted beef ribs I could order them and pay more for them when I specifically ordered the BBQ beef ribs! They have lost us as costumers and I am going to tell everyone I know not to go either. Terrible customer service and can't even get and order right.

Got the family pack #2 last week..was blown away! Great value for really great food and plentiful. The pulled pork sliders are really great. Will definitely try other family packs.

Our server was Segerio he is so friendly. He took very good of us. Ask for him if you want good service.

5 stars for the steaks, deducted 1 star because we were told, when asking the waitress what came with the steak. She replied beans and coleslaw plus 1 side. We each ordered a side and a salad for $1.99 extra. We said that's fine. The food was served in a timely manner, all quite good. The bill came we were charged for our sides, $2.99 for grilled vegetables, $1.99 for baked potato plus an additional .99 for the toppings. Overall very happy with the restaurant, not happy with the deceitful waitress, although she did provide good service. Just be aware of the extra charges.

Great place right off the interstate. Steak was tender and cooked perfectly. Shrimp was crispy on the outside and very tasty. The ranch beans had just the right amount of spice and the creamy pineapple coleslaw is absolutely wonderful. FYI - the beans and coleslaw are "all you can eat". Definitely worth the stop.

Old cooked and cold food. We ordered nachos with brisket, looked good, but once i put it on my mouth it was fridge cold! Complained to the waitress (very nice lady) and she brought another for replacement and it was better. Got our main course, everyone's fries were fridge cold! Can you imagine that? You go to a fast food and the food is piping hot and a sit down restaurant serves freezing fries. The manager heard the complaints but he could care less, and not to mention that he seemed to not even get close to our table when we requested to talk to him. Very disappointing, go to BK or wattaburger.

We are there this weekend and wow, we were very happy with our food. We have eaten there several times recently and have enjoyed each time. The food was great and service was great as well. The only thing was the brisket. It came out tough and a bit dry. Everything else has been very good. Our server guy was quick and very friendly We will definitely go back soo n.

Steaks were great, lobster good, service was a little bit slow, but pretty good. This place needs a better selection of wine 🍷 there are only about 8 on the menu and they don’t have half of it... I mean this is steak house - you NEED wine with your steak!!!

Absolutely outstanding. It's Father's Day and we came here on a cross country drive out to Arizona. The place is packed. Our wait was about 10 minutes, the steaks came out in about 10 - 15, and were PERFECT. Excellent service, food, and prices. We'll remember this restaurant the next time we drive through.
